Penetration Rate Has Reached One Million Meters Per Year - NaftaGaz Has Crossed a New Production Milestone

The penetration rate of NaftaGaz has reached one million meters per year. A significant production milestone has been reached by foreman Vitaly Vasiliev's crew No.6 at cluster pad No.24 of the Karamovskoye field at the facilities of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz JSC.

Since the foundation of the enterprise, the annual penetration rate has been constantly growing, this year it exceeded the previous period by 12%, while it all began with 20 thousand meters in 2014.

“I have been working in the company since the very beginning, since December 14. Since then, the equipment has been significantly upgraded, many technologies aimed at improving the quality have been added, and an automatic drilling complex has come to the aid of the drillers. Now the drilling process is more coordinated, qualitative, and efficient. We have achieved record results by working together: after all, all of us, both drillers and office employees, are doing the same thing and everyone is interested in achieving the result,” drilling foreman Vitaly Vasilyev shared his impressions.

NaftaGaz is one of the leaders in modern high-tech horizontal drilling in Russia, being the contractor in more than 87% of orders. The company also builds other high-tech types of wells, such as controlled pressure wells and multilateral wells. To date, a total of 1,350 wells have been drilled, and 5.7 million meters have been penetrated.
“Drilling is a continuous production process. You have to work non-stop 24 hours a day. The Naftagaz-Drilling team focuses on the quality of the work and achieves high results due to the improvement of the drilling planning and management system, as well as the effective implementation of innovative technical solutions,” said Marat Shagiev, manager of NaftaGaz drilling division.

In 2023, the company's drilling division received many letters of acknowledgement from customers for the successfully completed work. From Meretoyakhaneftegaz - for high production indicators for well construction in 2023, for the high quality of services, commitment and leadership in HSE issues and active assistance of the NaftaGaz team in the implementation of projects of the New Capacity Commissioning Block. The management of Rosneft-Nyaganneftegaz noted the professionalism and high level of organization of work at the fields, as a result of which significant results were achieved in reducing the drilling cycle. Gazpromneft-Khantos acknowledged the effort of Drilling Crew No.11 and called it the best in terms of developing well control skills in the case of gas, oil, and water ingress during the Safety Day skill test.

NaftaGaz is the only company in Russia whose drilling rig fleet is fully equipped with automatic drilling systems (auto-drilling, oscillation, damper, automatic pulling and running operations, accident prevention, performance assessment, monitoring of drilling opeartions). With the help of ADS (automated drilling systems), 400 wells were drilled, 1.5 million meters of rocks were penetrated, and the increase in mechanical speed was 20%.

A million meters penetration rate is a high achievement that only a few enterprises in the industrycan reach. We are an independent oilfield service company and we confirm the penetration of each meter by efficiency in fulfilling contractual obligations, as well as the stability and quality of teamwork of the production and management teams. I am thankful to each of our employees for their contribution to the achievement of this result and we continue to move towards the next achievements, and, as we understand, there are still a lot of them ahead,” commented the company's CEO Islam Nazaraliev on the important milestone in business development.
