At the Tazovskoye oil and gas condensate field the drilling crew No. 10 of the NaftaGaz company set a new record in drilling rate per day at the multi-lateral well No. 203 TAML-1 for the Pokur suite reservoirs. The shift under supervision of the foreman Andrey Belyak surpassed the previous achievements, setting a new record value – 1033 meters of penetration for 24 hours.
The main parameters of the record penetration rate:
· Drilling interval: 462–1495 m;
- Actual drilling time: 11.83 hours;
- Mechanical penetration rate: 86.9 m/hr.
Performance improvement became possible due to introduction of up-to-date technologies, optimization of the processes, and well-organized work of the team. Some of the key factors for success are:
· Shortened time for the auxiliary operations, such as reciprocating of the tool and extending;
- Selection of the optimal drilling modes;
- Use of high-quality drilling mud, which minimized downtime;
- Timely extending of the drilling tool and shortening of wiper trip time;
- High mechanical penetration rate in horizontal sections due to decreased amount of directional drilling.
The previous record, set on December 13, 2024 by the drilling crew No. 10 as well (shift under the supervision of the foreman Ivan Kochetkov), was 1000 meters of penetration rate per day. The new achievement is a result of well-organized work of the drilling crew and the engineering and technical personnel of the company.

Achievements of drilling crew No. 10:
The drilling crew No. 10, supervised by the foremen Ivan Kochetkov and Andrey Belyak, demonstrated high results several times. In 2024 the team took the 2-nd place in the sector competition “Best in Profession”. In the nominations for work specialties the winners were the driller Andrey Limansky and electric fitter Alexander Revzin. Their professionalism and quality of work regularly obtain high assessment from the clients.
In 2024, the crew completed two unique wells: one with five horizontal branches up to 1000 meters long, and the other with three sections ranging from 1500 to 2000 meters. Both wells set drilling rate records, and in the winter, the team added two more new records to their achievements.
Innovations of NaftaGaz:
The project for constructing multi-lateral wells on the Pokur reservoirs of the Tazovskoye field started in January 2022. To implement the project the company is using its proprietary innovative system of drilling processes automation, which optimizes the drilling modes and minimizes the risks of accidents due to a decrease of the human factor impact.
