Naftagaz-Drilling received the highest number of points and was recognized as the winner of the ECO-Leader competition at the end of 2023, which was held at the Tazovskoye oil and gas condensate field among the partners of Meretoyakhaneftegaz in the nomination “The best organization of activities in terms of environmental protection.”
Eight companies competed in the “Drilling” group. The work of the contestants was assessed strictly using 18 criteria. The criteria included:
• ecological condition of production facilities
• organization of work on the management of production and consumption waste
• absence of executive orders in the field of environmental safety
• compliance with regulations and availability of permits
NaftaGaz pays special attention to environmental safety. With a high level of involvement and responsibility, the requirements of environmental legislation are met, an internal audit of compliance with all environmental protection rules is carried out on a regular basis at all production facilities of the oilfield service company. This is the second time that NaftaGaz drilling division has taken first place in the ECO-Leader competition.
Letters of acknowledgement from Meretoyakhaneftegaz for their active work to ensure environmental safety at the Tazovsky oil and gas condensate field were awarded to Elena Kaptur, Head of the Environmental Safety Department, Roman Zhirenkin, Chief Specialist for Process Safety, and Alexey Biryukov, Foreman of Drilling Crew No.17.
For 10 months of 2023, the expenses of NG-Drilling in the field of environmental safety amounted to more than 200 million rubles (development of documentation, removal and disposal of household and process waste, disposal of drilling waste, etc.).
