NaftaGaZ reached record of daily drilling rate at the Tazovskoye field

During drilling of the well No. 202 at the Tazovskoye oil and gas condensate field of the Zapolyariye project by the drilling crew of NaftaGaz within the framework of implementing the activities of well construction full cycle optimization another record of penetration rate per day was obtained in the production string section – 1,000 m:

·         Drilling interval: 460-1,460 m;

• Time interval: since 12.12 02:45 till 13.12 02:45;
• Actual drilling time: 13.17 hours;
• Mechanical penetration rate for the given interval: 75.9 m/hr.

The reached performance value reflects the result of careful resource allocation and application of modern technological solutions within the operation process. The following steps were taken in order to reach this goal:

·         Reduction in the number of reciprocations after drilling out the stand and before extending the tool;

• Selection of optimal drilling modes;
• Preparation/revision (maintenance) of surface equipment before section drilling to eliminate downtime and Non-Productive Time (NPT).

The crew No. 10 under supervision of the foremen Ivan Kochetkov and Andrey Belyak lead the NaftaGaz drilling crews ranking several times, took the second place in the “Best in Profession 2024” professional skills competition, in the nomination of Worker Specialties the winners were a driller Andrey Limansky, electric fitter Alexander Revzin. Their successful and high-quality work is frequently marked by the clients. It is not for the first time that the drillers demonstrate high performance at the production facilities of the Tazovskoye oil and gas condensate field this year. A multi-lateral well with five horizontal legs of up to 1000 meters and a well with three horizontal sections from 1500 to 2000 meters were constructed with record penetration performance this summer.

Implementation of the multi-lateral well construction project for the Pokur suite reservoirs of the Tazovskoye oil and gas condensate field started in January 2022. Here NaftaGaz is using its proprietary development - the Automated Drilling Control System, which enables to select optimal drilling modes, decrease probability of incidents during performance of the works by minimizing the human factor. 

NaftaGaz is in the top five largest independent drilling companies. The company is certified by the largest Russian petroleum companies. Since the company was established, over 6.6 million meters (1,600 wells) have been drilled. The number of the personnel is about 2500 people. The production basis is located in the city of Noyabrsk (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug).
