NaftaGaz keeps improving leaving conditions of rotational personnel

At cluster pad 601 of the Vyngapurovskoye field (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz) the ceremonial opening of a modular residential complex took place, were the workers and engineering and technical personnel of NaftaGaz shall be accommodated in accordance to the new up-to-date standards of the living conditions. This is already the second such complex installed at the sites of the oil service company. The first pilot modular residential complex was put into operation last summer jointly with Gazpromneft-Hantos" at cluster pad 85 of the Yuzhno-Priobskoye field.

Speaking to the team, Nikolay Grishankov, the General Director of NaftaGaz, congratulated the drilling crew on their new accommodations and emphasized that creating comfortable living conditions for the employees is a vital part of the company's investment program along with investment to digitalization of the drilling processes, procurement of equipment, and modernization of production. Among the oil service companies, operating at the drilling facilities of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, such complexes are currently installed only at the facilities of NaftaGaz. The general director believes that improving the living conditions of the drilling crews will undoubtedly have a positive impact on business performance. He expressed gratitude to PAO Gazprom Neft for their assistance in preparation and implementation of this significant social project, as well as for their regular support of the drilling contractor’s initiatives for operational efficiency increase.

"I am also a driller and well aware that there have always been trailers at the cluster pads. Our company is socially oriented towards improving living conditions of the personnel, working at the production facilities of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz's. Today, there are 12 NaftaGaz drilling crews, operating in the Yamal area — that's a very large number of the personnel. It is well known that our industry faces a severe personnel shortage, so we are committed to helping our partners and contractors develop and create comfortable conditions for the drillers, because rotations are like the second home! That’s why it’s important that NaftaGaz invests significant resources into its development. I congratulate everyone on this significant event. I hope this will not be the last modular residential complex at the fields of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz."   

NaftaGaz implements this project as a part of the company's strategy to improve social and living conditions for the personnel. The strategy includes modernization of rotational residential complexes, creation of modern and comfortable workplaces, and implementation of the employees’ health and well-being enhancement programs.

The main difference between the new complex and traditional modular residential complexes at the oil service sites lies in the fundamentally different approach to organization of the employee living conditions, especially for those working on the rotational basis.

The modular design enables flexible reconfiguration of the complex’s layout; the blocks are joined with bolt connections with the use of sealing gaskets or special flexible inserts in the transitions. In our case, a proprietary design for common areas was developed with an account for the modern trends and energy consumption efficiency in order to make the employees residence even more comfortable by changing approaches to the material selection and interior color schemes.

“Today we can proudly say that NaftaGaz jointly with Gazprom Neft have become the initiators of a new standard for organizing social and living conditions for the personnel at the oil and gas production facilities. In the near future, this standard shall be applicable at most drilling sites,” - commented Sergey Kochnev, Deputy General Director for New Projects at NaftaGaz. 

The residential complex is equipped with all the necessary amenities for comfortable living and work for the personnel, working in harsh conditions far from home. Working at a production site requires high concentration and responsibility, so creating safe working conditions and modern environment for rest and recovery plays a crucial role in the life of rotational workers. There is no need for oil-field workers, living in such a complex, to go outside to move from their rooms to any part of the complex. All the living areas are connected by warm passageways. Inside one complex the workspaces are organized for the engineering and technical personnel of NaftaGaz, the client, and the sub-contractors. There are cozy rooms for accommodating 2 employees instead of 4-person trailer units. There is a separate wing for the night shift personnel of the drilling crew. Inside the complex there is a gym, rest lounge, medical point, laundry room, sauna, canteen, where the NaftaGaz employees receive free hot meals with an account for the specific features of work under extreme weather conditions. Cleaning and laundry services shall also be provided by a specialized subcontractor.

NaftaGaz is in the top five largest independent drilling companies of Russia. It performs its activity at the facilities of the largest oil and gas companies, demonstrates a sustainable growth in terms of production and financial performance each year. The number of the personnel is over 2.5 thousand people. The main production basis is located in the city of Noyabrsk (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), where its own licenses training center NaftaGaz-Development is under operation Since 2023, the company has been recognized twice in a row as the winner of the "Best Drilling Employer" award.
