NaftaGaz helped children from Noyabrsk that had beaten cancer

The children from Noyabrsk that had beaten cancer and their attendants took part in the World Winners Games in Moscow. 560 kids aged between 7 and 16 from 15 countries and 40 Russian regions competed in swimming, track and field, shooting, ping-pong, chess, and futsal.

It was the tenth time that Moscow hosted the World Winners Games. Igor Priyatelev and Artur Parda were able to take part thanks to NaftaGaz. Both boys beat leukaemia a few years ago. Following chemical therapy and bone marrow transplantation, the doctors finally allowed the boys to do sports. The boys’ faces were radiant with joy when they were running, swimming, jumping, and playing like all other kids.

Igor and Artur were happy to take part in the games and they won two bronze medals in soccer. In addition, Artur came fourth in the chess tournament.
These competitions for children beating cancer are sponsored by Podari Zhizn charity foundation. Well-known Yamal-based non-governmental organisation “Uncommon Children of Noyabrsk” was involved as the regional project partner of the foundation and NaftaGaz.

“Noyabrsk is our base city accommodating the office and workshop facilities of Naftagaz-Drilling, our drilling subsidiary, says Islam Nazaraliyev, CEO of NaftaGaz JSC. We find it important to do our best to support the city’s initiatives. The children affected by such serious diseases deserve support like nobody else”.

It is worth reminding that this is not the first time that NaftaGaz is supporting the residents of Noyabrsk. For instances, the company has already sponsored the “No to Terrorism” contest – thanks to NaftaGaz, all participants earned valuable prizes and their works were posted on billboards all around the city. Moreover, the company is supporting the Dobrodeya Noyabrsk-based day-care centre for senior and disabled citizens on an ongoing basis.
