NaftaGaz has launched the third drilling rig on the gas project

The gas portfolio of Russian oilfield services company NaftaGaz keeps expanding. The third drilling rig EUK-3000 with the capacity of 200 t was launched on Cenomanian deposits in Pestsovoye oil-gas condensate field.

The rig was specially adapted to the gas well construction conditions in harsh Arctic environment. The rig has high-tech equipment: top drive system, triplex pumps.

The drilling crew is provided with modern drill pipes, the workers are accommodated in new mobile units and provided with all means in view of the current epidemic circumstances: antiseptics, masks, etc.

Wells construction is in progress on PJSC Gazprom sites under the 5 year contract entered into with Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye LLC. Today, 6 wells have been completed.

Pestsovoye field is a part of Pestsovy licensed section, as well as Pestsovaya area of Urengoyskoye field, and is located in the zone of solid permafrost layer development of Nadym area, Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area. Discovered in 1974, Cenomanian massive dry gas deposit is the North-Western continuation of Bolshoi Urengoy deposit.

Note that Russian oilfield services company NaftaGaz is among the top five independent drilling contractors in the country. In 2020, 3 million drilled meters were reached starting fr om October, 2014. Today, 740 wells have been drilled, 70% of them – by directional drilling. The Company operates in any geographic and climatic conditions. The number of employees is approximately 1,700 people. The Company’s principal production site is based in Noyabrsk (YaNAA), wh ere NaftaGaz has an in-house school for drilling foremen, supervisors, and drillers to train personnel and develop talents.
