NaftaGaz Employs the Best Employees in the Field of Oil and Gas Well Drilling

The “Best Employee in Oil and Gas Drilling” award is an event aimed at identifying the most talented, competent, and promising employees of the industry, as well as the most effective managers. The organizer is the Information and Consulting Agency “First Drilling Portal”.

This year, 7011 applications were submitted for participation from specialists in the drilling industry. 2800 survey forms were selected for the group stage. 300 nominees who showed the best aggregate result in writing an autobiography and passing tests on general competencies and logical thinking made it to the semi-finals. And only 40 people, who maximally revealed in their essays the 3 main problems of the oil and gas industry in Russia and ways to solve them, reached the final. Based on the results of the final tasks, 17 nominees received the “Winner” status and 23 were declared “Finalists”. NaftaGaz employees (14 people) took part in all nominations, 5 of them became winners, and 6 were finalists.

To evaluate the results, a jury was formed, which included eminent workers of the oil and gas industry with many years of experience in managerial positions, having various state awards and regalia, including the academic degrees of doctors of technical sciences.

The First Drilling Portal is doing a significant job of attracting attention to the industry and increasing the prestige of the driller's profession. Today, this is especially important in the context of an acute shortage of personnel in oilfield services, the need to attract young people and maintain the loyalty of those who once decided to connect their lives with this most difficult profession. Participation in such competitions and awards is very important for employees: this is the way to confirm one’s competencies and set new tasks, and besides, winning the competition is, of course, a great inspiring factor. Our colleagues independently made the decision to participate and went through all the stages themselves. We are glad that NaftaGaz has successfully participated in all nominations and won almost all of them. In addition to this award, Naftagaz employees participate in the interregional championship in the field of oil and gas industry, traditions and crafts of the North according to the WorldSkills standards - “YamalSkills”, in the scientific and technical conference of young professionals and, of course, in the corporate professional skills competition “Best in Profession”, Dmitry Zakharov, Deputy General Director for Human Resources of NaftaGaz, commented on the results of the award.

NaftaGaz is one of the largest independent Russian oilfield service companies that implements high-tech projects in the field of construction of wells of all types and complexity in regions with severe natural and climatic conditions. It occupies 3% of the service market in the industry. More than 5.3 million meters of rocks have been drilled, more than 1300 wells have been constructed. This year, the company won the “Best Employer among Drilling Companies” award.
