IT-division of NagtaGaz Group celebrates the third anniversary of its establishment

The NaftaGaz company was one of the first in the Russian oil service sector, which several years ago initiated development of its proprietary drilling processes automation system in order to decrease the well construction period, data analysis, incident prevention control. In order to develop and introduce the automated drilling complex (ADC) the Tsifrovoye Bureniye IT-company was established in October 2021.

Our colleagues reached their third anniversary with impressive, stable results (based on experience as of 550 wells): a 22% increase in mechanical drilling speed during well construction, and an 8.3% increase in drilling speed per run. Drilling time was reduced for over 500 days, saving about 1 billion rubles for the client.

The developed and implemented innovative solutions helped the clients to achieve even greater success. A talented team of professionals has been formed, ready to tackle any challenges every day. The goal is to build reliable partnership relations with the leading companies in the fuel and energy complex and become a distinctive player in the market.

As of today, NaftaGaz is the only oil service company in Russia with all the drilling rigs fully equipped with the automated complexes. Additionally, the Automated Drilling Complexes (ADC) have been installed at the facilities of 15 other clients, including Gazpromneft – Khantos, Gazpromneft – Noyabrskneftegaz, Gazpromneft – Zapolyarye, Meretoyakhaneftgaz, RN-Nyagan, RN-Orenburg, RN-KhMF, Tyumenneftegaz, RN-YUNG, Sevkomefetgaz, and others.

"Tsifrovoye Bureniye" operates in 33 regions across Russia.

At the current stage of development, the clients are now offered an upgraded platform — "ADC+" (Automated Drilling Complex Plus) with enhanced functionality for complete automation of the drilling cycle. It provides more effective and accurate solutions for performing all types of well drilling operations with a drill winch, VSP (vertical seismic profiling), or drilling pumps. As a result, accurate control of the drilling mode, tracking and optimization of the time spent on all operations, ensuring repeatability and stability of the processes, reducing influence of the human factor, collecting the analytics for the drilling processes improvement and modernization.  

At present, the tests of the state-of-the-art developments are ongoing: automated performance of toolface setting and suspension operations, CB 3.0 (automated performance of operations at drilling from slips to slips), etc.
