Kyokushinkai is a style of karate founded by Masutatsu Oyama in the 1950s. Kyokushinkai is considered one of the hardest and toughest karate styles. It was created in opposition to the numerous non-contact schools and the very principle of "non-contact karate". By demonstrating the power of real karate to the world, Kyokushinkai gradually gained popularity in many countries, and later formed the basis for several other contact karate styles.
