Naftagaz Drilling forms steady partnership with contractors

NaftaGaz continues adjustment of business-processes in accordance with up-to-date requirements. The framework includes the meeting, which was held with contractors on the system of contracts implementation management and the “Stages” strategy. NaftaGaz has been working successfully under these programs for several years; the need to discuss interaction with contractors arose due to increased amount of orders and involvement of enterprises not familiar with this system.

“Importance of such programs for development of both of our partners and our company is evident,” noted Islam Nazaraliyev, CEO of NaftaGaz JSC, the managing company. “We implement best work practices of the industry and those of our customers quickly and effectively in order to keep in pace with the most technologically advanced companies. And we translate them further to our contractors contributing to improvement of the general organizational and technological level of the oil field servicing industry in Russia”.
At the meeting, the efficient scheme, which includes clear distribution of roles of all involved contractor’s employees, was presented to our new partners. The following roles were defined: the contract owner in the company, the single responsible person (SRP), the contract manager, the local executor, the industrial safety specialist. Depending on the contract category and its criticality different combinations of roles are applied.

Introduction of SRP and the structure of contract management provided for mitigation of the following risks:

  • Less favourable commercial conditions at contract signing;
  • Reduced efficiency of cost management during contract execution and under modified conditions.
  • Unreadiness for claim settlement due to incomplete contract dossier or its unavailability.
Contractual relations with contractors are divided into 7 stages, each of which involves some roles. From the moment the contract is concluded, the contractor's single responsible person is personally liable for contract execution. Naftagaz-Drilling representatives interact with this very person on all issues within the project. A management plan is developed for every contract, which accounts risks and contains pro-active measures for their prevention. Such plan allows to increase the contractor’s safety culture and to reduce accident occurrence risks. The importance of measures for prevention of damage to people and environment is obvious to NaftaGaz: the company's occupational safety service is actively working in this direction.

At the meeting the partners were reminded of the need to train every employee involved in the work on the contract with Naftagaz-Drilling in term of legislative requirements for industrial safety.
